The post-frontal airmass across southern Britain on Wednesday is characterised by a SMZ with very dry air aloft. This will limit the depth of any potential convection, but it is possible that, given sufficient sunshine, a few scattered heavy showers may develop during the afternoon/early evening, perhaps temporarily deep enough to produce a few sporadic flashes of lightning.
