Upper trough will drift southeastwards across the British Isles, accompanied by cool air aloft and steep mid-level lapse rates. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop in response to warm SSTs and diurnal heating inland, particularly focused along areas of low-level wind convergence. Most storms will be of the "pulse-type" variety given very little shear, capable of producing some hail and some gusty winds. Under such conditions a few funnel clouds will be possible.
Showers/storms may be late to arrive in SE England, perhaps not until late afternoon/early evening. In general, most showers will decay as nocturnal cooling commences.
