Frontal boundary straddling the Irish Sea is initially rather convective in nature, but increasing baroclinicity and the development of a frontal wave will see a transition to more of a dynamic / stratiform precipitation pattern through Thursday. As such, any ongoing lightning activity at the beginning of the forecast period will probably weaken and become rather isolated with time, given a reduction in instability and increasingly saturated profiles.
