Heights will gradually fall over the British Isles, both from the west and from the east, with a small upper low drifting from the North Sea across Orkney late in the day. Cooling aloft coupled with surface heating and orographic forcing may allow a few scattered showers to develop over NW Ireland and W Scotland, primarily late afternoon into the evening hours. Instability and shear is rather weak, and so lightning is likely to be fairly isolated.
There may also be some embedded elevated convection within the frontal rain affecting parts of SW Ireland at times.
