As the next Atlantic frontal system approaches, the post-frontal environment beneath an upper trough will be characterised by modestly steep mid-level lapse rates and some weak instability. As such, an isolated lightning strike cannot be ruled out during Sunday night associated with showers behind the main frontal rain, but most areas will remain void of any lightning.
