Behind the frontal rain associated with the cold front, cold air aloft will overspread Ireland on Saturday evening, and western Britain on Saturday night, creating an increasingly unstable environment and yielding up to 400J/kg CAPE. As a result, showers will spread into these areas during Saturday night, perhaps producing a few isolated lightning strikes. Ahead of this, some weak elements of line convection may evolve along the cold front given the strongly-sheared environment.
