A few isolated showers will be possible over SW England and towards the Republic of Ireland during Sunday, through a combination of both weak elevated instability and perhaps surface-driven convection during peak afternoon heating. However, in either case the risk of lightning is considered rather low, but non-zero.
On Sunday night an area of showery rain will potentially develop over the English Channel, emanating from existing shower/thunderstorm activity over France, approaching SW England late in the night. However, given weak instability lightning activity will be very isolated, if any at all.
