A frontal boundary will straddle southwestern areas throughout Tuesday, providing outbreaks of rain. Some embedded elevation convection is possible at first, and as a result a few isolated lightning strikes may occur - more especially over the English Channel and towards the Channel Islands - but even this is likely to eventually weaken as the whole frontal rain decays. By late Tuesday night the main focus for any showery rain will have shifted to the far tip of Cornwall / Isles of Scilly and up towards southern Ireland where weak embedded elevated instability continues to pose a fairly low risk of lightning.
