Weak upper ridging will build across central/southern Britain and Ireland during Wednesday, however some convective cloud is likely to develop in response to diurnal heating, albeit rather shallow in depth. The best environment overall will be over Northern Ireland, where steeper mid-level lapse rates and a few hundred J/kg CAPE are possible aided by 20-30kts DLS. Low-level convergence will in part aid scattered heavy showers, some perhaps producing a few isolated lightning strikes, the remnants of these likely to drift eastwards across the Isle of Man to northern England during the evening and night hours.

Overnight, showery rain will spread into western Ireland and there is a small risk of the odd isolated lightning strike.
