Upper trough continues to cover the British Isles on Monday, with the associated cool pool creating an environment with reasonably-steep mid-level lapse rates and a few hundred J/kg CAPE over seas. Showers will develop over open waters and affect some coasts where the steering flow is onshore, such as west Wales. The risk of lightning in any one location is fairly low, but probably greatest across the English Channel towards the coast of Kent / Sussex.
