On Tuesday night, a cold pool will pass over NW Scotland and the Northern Isles, steepening mid-level lapse rates and generated a couple hundred J/kg CAPE. The strongly-sheared environment may aid some organisation of cells to produce a few isolated lightning strikes. Hail and squally winds may accompany these showers.

Elsewhere, some line convection will be possible along the occlusion over Scotland and Northern Ireland in particular on Tuesday evening/night, perhaps also other parts of Ireland and northern England - but the risk of lightning with this feature is considered very low.
