A vertically-stacked low will drift southeastwards across Scotland on Monday, associated with a cold pool aloft. After early rain moves through, some modest surface heating could yield a few hundred J/kg CAPE - primarily NE Scotland - to help generate some deep convection. As such, heavy showers may develop during the afternoon/early evening in particular, capable of producing hail and isolated lightning - but the risk is generally considered quite low (10%).
