A few heavy showers may develop over parts of  Wales, W Midlands, Cen S / SW England and S Ireland on Wednesday afternoon and evening in response to diurnal heating, low-level convergence and orographic forcing. The depth of convection may be relatively shallow, which coupled with weak speed shear (some directional) suggests the risk of lightning is quite low in any one location. Nonetheless, the slack pressure pattern may give rise to a couple of funnel clouds.
