VALID 06:00 UTC Thu 19 Aug 2021 - 05:59 UTC Fri 20 Aug 2021

ISSUED 06:46 UTC Thu 19 Aug 2021

ISSUED BY: Dan

A small upper low will drift eastwards from Ireland and across England and Wales on Thursday, and in conjunction with some surface heating could allow a few heavy showers to develop in places. While the risk is quite low in any one place, there could be a few lightning strikes from any heavy showers that do develop. Any showers will generally weaken and clear to the North Sea during the evening hours, and then the attention turns to W / SW Ireland overnight where pulses of rain will arrive from the Atlantic where there is also a low risk of isolated lightning strikes.
