A ridge will temporarily build from the Atlantic on Wednesday, but on the leading side within the northwesterly flow scattered showers will feed into exposed western coasts and move well-inland courtesy of the strong steering flow and diurnal heating inland. The risk of lightning is quite low in any one location - however, a few sporadic strikes may be possible, more especially during the morning. Climatologically, the area around and to the north of Manchester tends to be most favoured in similar setups.
