As a weakening cold front drifts eastwards across Britain on Sunday, scattered showers will follow from the west as cooler air aloft overspreads relatively warm SSTs. The coldest air aloft will pass near western Scotland, and so here the deepest convection is expected with convective cloud farther south generally shallower in depth and in a rather dry environment. As such, the greatest potential for a few isolated lightning strikes will be in western Scotland - especially late afternoon and into the evening hours - with a rather low risk elsewhere.
