An upper trough will swing eastwards across the UK/Ireland on Monday, providing the focus for scattered showers in many areas. The main trough axis will coincide with peak diurnal heating across the Midlands/Cen S Eng and later East Anglia / SE England, and so in these areas there may be a few isolated lightning strikes. Showers will slowly fade through the evening as the upper trough exits to the North Sea.
