Showery outbreaks of rain will drift southeastwards across Northern Ireland, Wales and England on Monday, while gradually weakening. A few odd isolated lightning strikes may be possible, but the risk is rather low. A lull in activity is then expected as a transient ridge migrates eastwards across all areas, followed by the next Atlantic frontal system from the west overnight - the cold front is likely to contain some line convection over Ireland and western Scotland, although the shallow nature in a saturated environment suggests the risk of lightning is rather low.
