A small upper low will drift northeastwards across Ireland and Scotland during Friday and Friday night, aiding to deepen the convective layer. As such, showery pulses of rain and additional diurnal heating-driven showers will likely affect these areas during this forecast period, particularly forced by areas of low-level convergence in a rather slack surface pattern. For the most part, the depth of convection and/or cloud-layer shear is likely to be rather limited, so little to no lightning activity is expected despite the presence of heavy showers. The greatest risk is probably over northern Ireland and Northern Ireland.
