As a minor shortwave swings westwards around the northern periphery of an upper low over France, a deeper convective layer may allow some slightly heavier showers to develop in the S + W Midlands into Wales and SW England on Saturday afternoon. During the evening and night, showery rain emanating from France will slide eastwards over the English Channel and southern England.
