Diurnal heating will yield a few hundred J/kg CAPE in central/western portions of both Ireland and Scotland, which in conjunction with low-level convergence and orographic forcing could develop a few heavy showers during the afternoon and evening hours. The depth of convection may be too shallow for lightning, but a few isolated strikes cannot be ruled out (more likely in W Scotland).
